The COVID-19 pandemic caused a whirlwind of a year for many people. But one of the things that has changed the pandemic drastically is the number of available vaccines. While every state had differing guidelines on who the vaccine was available to first depending on a few factors, many states later opened vaccine appointments to all of the general public.
In an effort to make vaccines available to those who needed them, Carpet Baggers Flooring in Charleston, South Carolina held a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Friday, May 21st from 8 AM to 1PM. The event was open to anyone over the age of eighteen who had not yet been vaccinated.
So how did a flooring store make a free vaccination event become possible? Carpet Baggers partnered with Dottie’s Pharmacy & Compounding, a local pharmacy in Charleston. By providing vaccines at the flooring store and partnering with the pharmacy who was able to administer the vaccines, Johnson and Johnson shots were administered to any adult who was interested in becoming vaccinated. Appointments were not required, so it was a great opportunity for anyone who was not able to get an appointment in the past or had a busy schedule. Not only were there free vaccinations available, but there were a variety of treats for those who visited.
The event was a great success and provided vaccines to many people. Both Carpet Baggers Flooring and Dottie’s Pharmacy & Compounding were a great help to those in the Charleston community, and were happy to volunteer time to the community in any way they could.
